Have you suggested they think about using a service like Lulu [1]. You
can upload PDFs and they will print and post single copies of your book.
On your website you just advertise/ describe the book and point
customers to Lulu to make their purchase. You don't need to worry about
shopping carts/ payment processing/ shipping/ etc. and as you are
selling a physical product you don't need to be concerned with someone
sticking your ebook on a BitTorrent site... You might also find that
people are more willing to buy as they will be getting something "real"
for their money.
I haven't use it so can't make a personal recommendation but as far as I
can tell you only pay Lulu when your book sells and so it will cost you
nothing to try it.
