State your terms clearly is definitely the 1st step, then hope for timely
payment.

Good advice.
Its time consuming but nobody likes being hassled. Eventually they will pay
up, and maybe next time theyll keep to your terms.
Always add a clause about charging interest for late payments. Then if they
are ongoing customers, be sure to follow up the threat. Youll find after
paying extra, they will usually be keen to pay on time in future.
