You can customise to your heart's content with both systems.
It depends on your ability to code and if you want a table free site or

no it's not the easiest systems to add to and find the right contrib so you
are correct to ask for help, the oscom forum is perhaps the better place

o dear, if you can't find the right contrib download I would not consider
trying to install STS !
It is not the easiest of systems to addon and considering the upcoming PHP5
and MySQL5 updates happy...
