What does the signing chain for the certificate show?

In any case there's plenty of cheap SSL certs available that are "proper".
I'm not sure exactly what Verisign etc. give you apart from the feeling
that it's reassuringly expensive.

Sam M of Wired Eyes sells certs - I've not yet bought one off him but I
intend to once the client in question gets the necessary Round Tuit.
